Application Form

Application forms are available from the Mountain View Lutheran church office.  The form may also be downloaded here as a pdf file.  (click on icon)

Completed forms should be mailed or delivered to the MVLC church office along with requested documents.    The Scholarship Committee meets regularly to consider applications.

Eligibility for Scholarship

  1. The Applicant must be a member in good standing of a Lutheran church, or a relative of a member of MVLC.  If multiple applicants are being considered, and all other factors are equal, members of MVLC will have priority.
  2. The Applicant must be in attendance, or must have applied for and been accepted for admission at an institution of higher education operated by a Lutheran institution approved by the MVLC Scholarship Committee.
  3. The Applicant’s intention must be to prepare for full time professional service in a Lutheran congregation:  as a pastor, DCE, teacher, music director or other recognized church professional.
  4. The Applicant must maintain a GPA of 2.75 out of 4.0.  Current GPA’s must be submitted with applications.
  5. Upon completion of the academic program, the Applicant is expected to serve at least 2 years in a Lutheran church as a full time church worker.  If this does not occur, the recipient will be expected to re-pay at least 1/2 of the funds within a time period specified by the Scholarship Committee.

Application Procedure

Application should be submitted  two months prior to the beginning of the school year.

Scholarships may be awarded for 4 consecutive years; additional years with the approval of the Scholarship Committee.
